Impact of Renaissance in Architecture (Essay Sample) Content: Name:Course:Tutor:Date:IntroductionRenaissance is a word used to mean rebirth. In Italy this period happened between the year 1330 and 1550. Many historians date the 6th of April 1341 when Francesco Petrarch was crowned the Poet Laureate to be the day that the Renaissance began. This period is described as a period that saw a lot of changes in the field of architecture, culture and even arts. The Renaissance began in Florence and soon afterward spread to many other parts of Italy (Markschies 8). The most characteristic factor of the Renaissance was the development of new architectural designs. As well, there were many changes that happened during the Renaissance and these changes have been characterized in shaping the world that we live in today. Whether in the field of arts, education, literature, architecture and even science, all has just been accredited to the Italian Renaissance. Ideally, Renaissance is the motherboard for all the developments that we see today i n the world.Impact of Renaissance in architectureBefore Renaissance there were other architects that had studied architecture that include, but not limited to Master, Gregory that wrote in the 13th century that he had been able to measure the length of the pantheon with his own hand. But with the rejuvenation of the Renaissance there were a lot of changes that came into place. There was a new life that had been brought into the classical arts of sculpture, arts painting and architecture. With Renaissance and the knowledge that came with it, it meant that architects could not only study classical architecture or adopted the classical models or the classical monuments, but they engaged in a new reconstruction of buildings and cities. This reconstruction and development of new cities are what have been characteristics of the world today. The architectural designs that were born at that time are reminiscent of many of the cities not only in Italy but in the entire world. We can therefor e infer the developments in the field of architecture today to the Renaissance.Development in the field of educationToday the curriculum of education in many parts of the world features subjects such as the arts, history, architecture and even science. The development of this curriculum has its roots in the Renaissance period. During the Renaissance period there was a shift in the education system. At this time there was the rise of what is popularly referred to as humanism. Before the Renaissance period there was a curriculum that was based on the following subjects Trivium that included Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric. There was the Quadrivium that composed of geometry, arithmetic, music and astronomy (Hines 7). But during the Renaissance there was a new system that was to incorporate Grammar, rhetoric, literacy studies and history in the education system. The humanist movement stressed on practical ideas rather than philosophical ideas in the education system (Soergel 12). This has become the characteristic of the education system in the world today. Thus we can simply say that the education system we have today is as a result of the development of humanistic ideas during the Renaissance.The field of arts as we see it today has been under a lot of development dating back to the Mid Paleolithic when the then forefathers of man used to paint on rocks and walls of their house. The beginning of the modern world saw a lot of changes in politics, society, religion and even culture. But there is something remarkable that shaped the world of arts during the Renaissance (Fitzpatrick 4). During the Italian Renaissance the artists of the time transformed from the classical arts and started a movement that they called the new Modern style. This artist embraced the classical Rome and Greece rules of arts and emphasized on the balance of harmony. Some of the remarkable artiste of the time that contributed to the changes includes Leonardo Da Vinci and Buonaroti Sanzio. There remarkable works of art have been termed as some of the best throughout the history of arts. The skills that they infused in the field of arts are what have been able to change the world of arts to what we see today. We can then agree to one fact that the Renaissance artists have a lot of influence to the arts of today.Printing technologyToday we can be able to get books in printed format and this is also attributed to the Renaissance period. Just as there was much that architecture and art benefited from technology so is literature. It was during the Renaissance that the first book was published by a movable machine. The printing technology soon spread to many other parts of the world and became very useful. Initially this technology was much sort after since many of the humanist writers were seeking a way in which they could express and spread their ideas. As soon as the printing technology was developed many of the poets had found a way to spread their ideas and this marked a re volution in the world of literature. The art of printing books, poems and songs dominates the world today and notably today, we can be able to read some of the works done by a number of writers many years ago, thanks to the Renaissance. We can then acknowledge the development of the printing press to the Renaissance.The position of women in the societyFor quite a long time women were denied political rights, and they were subjected to their husbands in all legal manner.
